What to Expect...

Functional Healing is an integrative and functional medicine dietetic practice focused on building a therapeutic partnership with each patient. Taking time with each patient to understand the interactions between an individual's genetics, environment, and various lifestyle factors, integrative and functional medicine practitioners aim to help identify underlying mechanisms of imbalance. Using a systems-oriented, patient-centered approach, both patient and practitioner take part in developing a personalized plan to meet an individual’s specific health needs and goals. Functional Healing uses nutrition, carefully tailored supplementation, various lifestyle recommendations and an array of functional medicine testing to help identify possible interventions to achieve optimal health. The ultimate goal of integrative and functional medicine is prevention, emphasizing the balance of body, mind and spirit to promote wellness and vitality.

As an integrative and functional medicine practitioner, our first meeting will be mainly an information gathering session lasting approximately 60 minutes. During the initial consultation, we will discuss your medical history as well as your health concerns and goals. Together we will determine the next best steps as it relates to your case and any testing considerations. Though some recommendations may be given in our first meeting, an individualized plan will be discussed as part of the case review consultation. Our second visit will be scheduled for 90 minutes and will consist of a thorough case review including a detailed assessment of your medical history, previous lab work, any functional medicine testing completed through my office and an analysis of your current diet, supplement intake, and lifestyle factors. A report of findings will be provided along with an individualized diet, supplement and lifestyle plan based on your specific needs. Follow-up visits will be scheduled for 30 or 60 minutes to track progress, review additional lab work and reassess nutrition and supplement recommendations, as needed.
